The Story & Lineage of the
Rite of the Womb
A Sacred Transmission Carried Woman to Woman
The Rite of the Womb carries a beautiful story of feminine wisdom, remembrance,
and healing.
It is known as the 13th Rite of the Munay-Ki, a contemporary spiritual initiation associated with the wisdom traditions of the Andes and Amazon. According to the lineage teachings, the Rite was transmitted to Marcela Lobos, a medicine woman and teacher, by a lineage of women during her spiritual work in the Amazon in 2014.
The story tells of women who had freed themselves from suffering and carried a message for generations to come:
The womb is not a place to store fear and pain. The womb is a place to create and give birth to life.
In October 2014, the Rite was shared with a larger circle of women at the Omega Institute, beginning a new chapter in its journey as a ceremony and transmission that would continue to be offered around the world.
Once received, a woman becomes part of the lineage of Wombkeepers, women who choose to carry, honor, and share this sacred remembrance with others.
Your body remembers. Your body carries. And your body deserves to be honored.
The Rite of the Womb is a sacred ceremony created to honor the feminine body and the experiences it has carried, especially through seasons of loss, trauma, birth, transition, or disconnection.
It is an invitation to slow down, turn inward, and create intentional space for what has been held within you.
Through ritual, reflection, energy work, and sacred intention, we create a supportive space to acknowledge your experiences, gently release what you are ready to let go of, and reconnect with the wholeness, wisdom, and sovereignty that have always been within you.
This ceremony is offered as a private 1:1 session or as a group ceremony as a private or public event.
When Your Body Has Been Carrying More Than Words Can Express
There are experiences that the mind can understand while the body continues to carry them.
A loss.
A difficult birth.
A relationship that changed you.
A season of trauma or grief.
A disconnection from your body or femininity.
A chapter of your life that you know you're ready to leave behind but don't quite know how.
The Rite of the Womb offers a sacred pause for you to go within.
A place where you don't have to explain everything, fix everything, or have the right words.
What to Expect
Your ceremony is held in a private, intentional, and supportive space.
We begin by creating a grounded container for the experience and setting an intention for your ceremony. From there, the practice unfolds intuitively and may include guided meditation, energy work, ritual, reflection, breath, and other sacred practices appropriate to your experience.
There is no right way to experience the ceremony.
You don't need to arrive with a specific outcome.
You are invited to simply come as you are.
Is the Right of the Womb right for you?
The Rite of the Womb may be especially meaningful if you are moving through:
A significant loss or life transition
Reproductive or birth-related experiences
A sense of disconnection from your body
A period of grief or emotional transition
The aftermath of a difficult or challenging chapter
A desire to reconnect with your femininity
A personal transition or rite of passage
A feeling that you're ready to release something and move forward
You don't need to be able to articulate exactly what you're ready to release.
Sometimes the body knows before the mind has the words.
Let's create a sacred space where you can honor your body, acknowledge your journey, and reconnect with the part of you that has been there all along.
